STEELE ASSOCIATES IS CARBON NEUTRAL
Steele Associates is a design and construct practice. Our team consists
of full-time tradesmen, assistants and management staff, with a good
network of reliable specialised sub-contractors. We all work with the
understanding that a high-quality built outcome in every project is
important not only to the long-term success of our practice, but also to
our own personal satisfaction.
Services:
Design - We offer full architectural services, including brief development, sketch design, council approvals, tendering to builders and contract administration.
Construct - We can prepare tenders for projects designed by other architects and offer a comprehensive construction service covered by all relevant licenses and insurances.
Design + construct - If engaged in a design role, we can submit a tender for construction at the tender stage along with other builders. If we are chosen to act as builder, discounts apply to our fees due to the reduced workload when the project is in-house.
Document + construct - We are often asked to tender on projects with incomplete documentation. In such cases, we are able to supplement documentation to a standard that will facilitate true and accurate competitive tendering.
Reports - We provide reports dealing with dilapidation, pre-purchase inspection, statements of environmental effects and other formats commonly required.

Steele Associates Architecture are an environmentally conscious company
that have taken large steps to reduce their impact on the environment.
They have engaged the Carbon Reduction Institute to quantify the
emissions produced from the running of the business and recommend
measures to reduce these emissions. The Carbon Reduction Institute has
created and surrendered greenhouse abatement certificates to offset
these emissions, making Steele Associates the first NoCO2 certified
carbon neutral construction and architecture business. The Carbon
Reduction Institute will monitor the emissions produced by Steele
Associates to ensure their carbon footprint is reduced and remains
offset.

Steele Associates undertook an apartment renovation for the ACF using energy efficient lights and appliances and environmentally friendly products.
Steele Associates took another step for the environment and had all the emissions generated from the renovation calculated and offset by the Carbon Reduction Institute. This involved calculating the embodied emissions of all the products used in the renovation a well as emissions from power use onsite and travel to the site and then offsetting these emissions using carbon credits created through energy efficiency projects.
